CHAPTER 10 OF 12

Chapter 10: job, promotion and business in your leaf

Chapter 10 settles the question most people bring to a reading: job or business. It says whether employment is written for you, whether it is government or private work, at what ages promotions come, and, if business is on your leaf, what kind of business and from where.

What this chapter covers

The chapter speaks about your profession and your career, and it splits early into two paths. The first is employment. It says whether you will be able to get a job, and what kind of job it is: government or private.

Promotions are given with ages attached. That is the part people write down, because it turns a vague hope about the next five years into a specific year to watch.

The chapter also reads the problems you may face at the work station, and it goes further than naming them. It indicates through whom the problem may arise. Sometimes solutions are reflected in the chapter alongside the problem, and sometimes they are not. We read what is there.

The second path is business. If you have the fortunes to start a business, the chapter describes what kind: trading, commission basis, and the other forms recorded on the leaf. It gives where you would be able to start it and at what age.

It then deals with the running of it. Obstacles are named. Financial gains and losses are indicated. The chapter also gives the practical details the Maharishis attached to a smooth run: the direction that suits you, the colour, the name, and the number of letters in that name.

That last set of details is the one people most often want to act on straight away, so ask when you book whether a business name can be checked in the same sitting.

What the chapter does not do is guarantee a result. It does not promise that a job arrives, that a promotion lands, or that a business succeeds. It describes what is written, and the decisions after that are yours to make with the people who advise you.

Questions this chapter answers

  • Will I be able to get a job, and is it government or private work?
  • At what ages are promotions shown for me?
  • What problems am I likely to face at my work station?
  • Through whom is that problem indicated to arise?
  • Do I have the fortunes to start a business, and what kind: trading, commission basis or another form?
  • Where and at what age would I be able to start it?
  • What obstacles, gains and losses are recorded for that business?
  • Which direction, colour, name and number of letters in the name suit me best for a smooth run?

How chapter 10 sits beside the other chapters

Chapter 10 is about the work itself. What you studied to get there is a different chapter: chapter 2 covers education, the stream that suits you and the obstacles to finishing it, and people who are still choosing a course usually need that one first.

Gains and profits are read twice in the bundle from different angles. Here they are tied to the job or the business. In chapter 11 the modes of profit are read more broadly, including gains outside work altogether. The chapter before this one is chapter 9 on your father and your spiritual path.

If you have come here because work has stalled, or because you are weighing a job against starting something of your own, the page for that situation is stuck in your career, and what a reading addresses. For a question tied to one specific year or one decision in front of you now, the Prasna and Dashabukthi chapters among the seven special chapters are the closer fit.

Questions people ask about chapter 10

Will the chapter tell me which company to join? +

No. It says whether a job is written, whether the work is government or private, the ages at which promotions come, and the problems likely at the work station. It does not name an employer and it does not tell you to accept or refuse an offer. That judgement stays with you.

I want to know whether to leave my job and start a business. Does this chapter answer that? +

It answers the half you cannot see. The chapter says whether business fortunes are written for you, what kind of business, where, at what age, and what obstacles are indicated. It does not weigh your savings, your family situation or your notice period. Put the chapter next to that advice, not in place of it.

Does it really give a colour and a number of letters for a business name? +

Yes. The Maharishis recorded the direction, the colour, the name and the number of letters in the name held to suit a person for a smooth run. It is read out as it stands. Whether you build your branding around it is entirely your decision, and the chapter makes no promise about turnover either way.

Someone at work is creating problems for me. Will the leaf identify them? +

Chapter 10 indicates through whom the problem at the work station may arise. Chapter 6 goes into enemies in much more detail, including whether they are known or unknown and clues to identify them. We will not help you act against a named person, and nothing in a reading should be used that way.

I am already retired. Is there anything in this chapter for me? +

Often there is, in two ways. The working years already behind you make good verification material, since the ages and the type of work can be checked against what happened. And the business half of the chapter still applies to anything you start now, including trading or work on a commission basis.
