CHAPTER 7 · FIRST MARRIAGE

Marriage is being delayed. What does the leaf say?

Chapter 7 is the chapter read for this. It states whether marriage is indicated in this birth, and if it is, the age at which it is shown, the direction the partner comes from, and identifying details about that person. If it is not indicated, the leaf gives its reasons.

Why people come with this question

Usually because the waiting has gone on longer than anyone expected. Proposals come and stop. A match is agreed and then falls through. Relatives ask at every function. The question underneath is rarely about a date. It is whether this is going to happen at all.

A Nadi reading does not remove the waiting. What it gives you is Chapter 7 of a leaf matched to your thumbprint, read out in the Maharishi’s words, so you are working from something specific rather than from other people’s opinions.

What Chapter 7 actually addresses

Only what is written on your leaf, and nothing beyond it. The full listing is on the first marriage chapter page. In short, it covers:

Whether, and when

Whether married life is shown for you in this birth, and if it is, the age at which the leaf places it.

If it is not shown

The reasons the leaf gives. Sometimes a remedy is written alongside those reasons, and it is read out as written.

Who the partner is

Direction from your home, clues on moon sign, birth star and ascendant, whether they are the first or last child, and places near their home.

Identifying marks

Complexion, characteristics, scars or moles, education, and whether they will be working.

Their family

Clues on the parents’ names, whether they will be present, and challenges they face.

Distance

The direction of the partner’s home from yours and the travel time between the two.

What happens when you come

Verification comes first, reading comes second. The full sequence is set out on the Nadi process page.

  1. 1

    Your thumb impression is taken

Right thumb for men, left thumb for women. No birth date, birth time or star is needed. Read more on why the thumbprint is used.

  2. 2

    Bundles are searched

The print narrows the search to a group of bundles. Leaves from those bundles are then read out to you one at a time.

  3. 3

    You answer yes or no

Statements are read to you about your name, your parents’ names and your circumstances. You confirm or deny each one. You are not asked to supply the details. This is the step that decides whether a leaf matches.

  4. 4

    Chapter 7 is read

Once a leaf is matched, the marriage chapter is read to you as written. You are told how long to set aside when you book. You can ask about what was read, and what it costs is set out on the fees page.

What we will not tell you

This matters more than anything else on this page, because it is where this field goes wrong.

  • We will not promise you an outcome. No reading here comes with a guarantee attached.
  • We will not hand you a wedding date as a certainty. The leaf gives an age and a period. That is what gets read to you.
  • We will not tell you that anything is wrong with your body, and we will not comment on anyone’s health. That is between you and your doctor.
  • We will not tell you to break an engagement, refuse a match, leave a relationship or marry someone on the strength of one sentence from a leaf. A reading is one input into a decision that is yours.
  • We will not pretend a leaf matches you when it does not. If no leaf is matched, you are told so, and what happens then is set out on the refund policy page.

If a reader tells you the delay will end on a fixed date, or that one ritual will settle it, you are being sold something. Ask what the leaf says, and ask to hear it read.

Where to read next

Start with Chapter 7, first marriage. A second marriage sits in Chapter 11 instead, and Chapter 1 covers most areas of life in a broad way.

Practical questions about booking, timing and what to bring are answered on the FAQ page.

Nadi readings are a traditional practice. Nothing here is medical, legal or financial advice, and no outcome is guaranteed. Please continue to follow your doctor.

Questions people ask

Can a Nadi reading tell me the date I will marry? +

No. Chapter 7 records an age and a period, not a calendar date to hold us to. What gets read to you is what the leaf states. Anyone offering you a fixed wedding date as a certainty is going beyond what the palm leaf tradition claims.

Do I need my birth date or birth time? +

No. Nadi reading works from a thumb impression, not from a birth chart. Right thumb for men, left thumb for women. This is one of the main differences from conventional astrology, and it is the reason people with no recorded birth time still come for a reading.

What if the leaf says marriage is not indicated? +

Then that is read to you plainly, along with the reasons the leaf gives, and sometimes a remedy written alongside them. We do not soften it and we do not dress it up. What you do after hearing it remains entirely your decision.

Can my parents come and get my reading done for me? +

The reading needs your own thumb impression, so you have to be present in person for that step. Family members are welcome to sit in with you. What happens with a print once it is taken is set out in the privacy policy.

Should I stop looking for a match until after the reading? +

No, and we would not advise anyone to put their life on hold for a reading. Carry on with what you were doing. A reading is something you listen to and weigh up, not an instruction to stop living while you wait for it.

Ask about a Chapter 7 reading
