CHAPTER 10 · PROFESSION AND CAREER

Stuck in your career, or unsure whether to start something

Chapter 10 is the chapter read for work. It covers whether a job is shown for you and what kind, the ages at which promotion is indicated, the trouble that comes at the workplace and through whom, and whether starting a business is shown for you at all.

Why people come with this question

Two situations bring most people here. The first is a stall: the same role for years, promotions going elsewhere, or the same conflict following you from one office to the next. The second is a fork. You have savings and an idea, and you cannot tell whether starting up is courage or a mistake.

Neither is settled by a reading. What a reading gives you is Chapter 10 of a leaf matched to your thumbprint, read out as written. You then weigh it up as you would anything else you were told.

What Chapter 10 actually addresses

Only what is written on your leaf. The full listing is on the career chapter page. In short, it covers:

Employment

Whether a job is shown for you, and what kind of work it is, including whether it is government or private.

Promotions

The ages at which advancement is indicated in the leaf, rather than a general statement that things will improve.

Trouble at work

The problems you may face at the workplace and through whom they arise. Sometimes a remedy is written alongside, and it is read out as written.

Business, if shown

Whether you have the fortune to run your own business, and what kind, such as trading or work on a commission basis.

Where and when

The place and the age at which a business is shown to start, along with the obstacles and the gains or losses indicated.

Naming and direction

The direction, colour, name and number of letters in the name the leaf records as suiting you for a smooth run.

What happens when you come

Verification comes first, reading comes second. The full sequence is set out on the Nadi process page.

  1. 1

    Your thumb impression is taken

Right thumb for men, left thumb for women. No birth date, birth time or star is needed. More on how the thumbprint narrows the search.

  2. 2

    Bundles are searched

The print points to a group of bundles. Leaves from those bundles are read out to you one at a time.

  3. 3

    You answer yes or no

Statements about your name, your parents’ names and your circumstances are read to you, and you confirm or deny each one. You are not asked to supply them. This step decides whether a leaf matches.

  4. 4

    Chapter 10 is read

Once a leaf is matched, the career chapter is read to you as written. You are told how long to set aside when you book. What a reading costs is set out on the fees page.

What we will not tell you

This is more useful to you than any promise we could make.

  • We will not promise you a job, a promotion, a client or a profit. No reading here comes with a guarantee attached.
  • We will not give you a date you can plan around as a certainty. The leaf records ages and periods, and that is what is read to you.
  • We will not give you financial advice. Nothing read out is a recommendation to invest, borrow, take a loan or put money into a venture.
  • We will not tell you to resign, to refuse an offer, or to sink your savings into a business on the strength of one sentence from a leaf. Take that decision with the people who know your finances.
  • We will not name the person causing you trouble at work as an accusation. The leaf gives identifying details and they are read as written, nothing more.

If someone tells you a ritual will get you the promotion, or that your business will succeed because a leaf says so, they have stopped reading and started selling.

Where to read next

Start with Chapter 10, profession and career. Loans, debts and disputes sit in Chapter 6, gains through job or business in Chapter 11, and Chapter 2 covers the study and speaking skills behind many work questions.

Questions people ask

Can a reading tell me whether to quit my job? +

No, and we will not tell you to. Chapter 10 is read out as written, including what it records about your work and the periods it marks. The decision to resign involves your income, your family and your obligations, and none of those are on a palm leaf.

Does the leaf say what business I should start? +

The leaf records whether business is shown for you and what kind, such as trading or commission work, along with the place and age indicated. It is read to you as written. Whether that fits the market you are actually in is a judgement only you can make.

Do I need my birth date or birth chart? +

No. A Nadi reading works from a thumb impression, not a birth chart. Right thumb for men, left thumb for women. No birth date, birth time or star is required at any stage, which is the main practical difference from conventional astrology.

Can I read only the career chapter? +

Chapters are read one at a time, so a single subject can be taken on its own. The leaf has to be matched first through the verification questions before any chapter is read. Whether you take one chapter or several is settled when you book, and the fees page sets out how chapters are charged.

What if I do not agree with what the leaf says about my work? +

Say so during the reading. The verification stage exists precisely so that a leaf is not accepted as yours unless the details check out against your own life. Disagreeing with a chapter is reasonable, and nothing is read to you as an instruction you have to follow.
